Safety Equipment
The Chances of a person surviving complete burial are significantly reduced after just 15 minutes. The most common cause of death is asphyxiation because the buried victim often has access to only a small pocket of air. Only about half of snow sport participants who are completely buried by an avalanche survive the accident.
